This video was made by D. Wiedemann on 9 and 10 September 1999. It was early in the morning, in a roosting place close to Plessa, a village in southern Brandenburg, Germany. Two young birds did show a small white ring above their right intertarsal articulation.

The birds were also seen from 2 to 9 October, 1999 in another sleeping place known as "Grünhaus", 8km to the north (coordinates: 31º 33'N, 13º 40'E).

On 24 April 2000 Klaus Uhl observed again one of these cranes in a field close to the sleeping place "Grünhaus". Finally, the bird has been observed, again in Grünhaus, on 16 and 24 September and 10 October 2000.

The ECWG would like to know where and when these birds
were ringed. Any other information is also welcomed
