This bird was seen by Klaus Uhl, as a juvenile in the roost Grünhaus (31º 33'N, 13º 40'E), near Grünewalde, Brandenburg (Germany) on 26 September, 3, 5 and 17 October 2000. It was in a
flock of 700-1100 individuals. As the bird had been banded ignoring any of our colour banding rules, the question was raised at the meeting of the colour banding group during the 4th European Crane Workshop held in November 2000 in Verdun, France. It was then recognized by one of our colleagues from the Czech Republic. Now we know where did it come from! Let's wait for the banding data to come. |
